Vehicle Storage - BTi Logistics Storing 1000's of Vehicles across Australia
Vehicles have been arriving into Australian Ports at record pace over the past 12 months, with large order volumes following a surge of demand post COVID, as well as a flurry of new entrants into the market. As vehicles continue to arrive, the question that comes to mind is, where do we store these vehicles?
BTi Logistics have actively partnered with multiple globally recognised OEMs and distributors to provide flexible vehicle storage and handling arrangements across the country. Having processed over 10,000 vehicles over the past 9 months, BTi Logistics now occupy over 160,000 square metres of warehousing space for the sole purpose of storing and handling new vehicles.
BTi Logistics Managing Director Michael Parakh said “I think the demand is due to a combination of factors. Covid related pressures and unprecedented demand certainly kicked things off, but a changing economic landscape resulting in reduced demand as well as an influx of new vehicles into the market have further added to the issues. Now throw in supply and shipping challenges coming from multiple angles over the past few years and you have a very challenging landscape for OEMs.”
BTi Logistics supported the Automotive industry in 2023 through its dedicated quarantine services, ensuring efficient processing of quarantine affected vehicles which were otherwise destined to remain on Port for months, resulting in extreme costs to OEMs. This solution, previously not offered in bulk, allowed BTi Logistics to clean over 4000 vehicles in Melbourne, with a far quicker turnaround than otherwise would have been possible.
The current situation doesn’t look to have an end in sight as OEMs and distributors work with their customers, logistics teams and manufacturing arms to manage shipments accordingly. BTi Logistics continues to remain at the forefront, providing quick and adaptable solutions to support the industry with vehicle storage and handling services.
